Ingredients:
- 6 medium-sized apples (2 Granny Smith, 2 Honeycrisp, and 2 Jonagold), peeled, cored, and sliced
- 1/2 cup Organic granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup Organic packed light brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1.5 teaspoon Organic ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon Organic ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon Pink Himalayan Sea Salt
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, diced
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 2 pre-made pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F .
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the peeled and sliced apples, granulated sugar, brown sugar, lemon juice, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Toss until the apples are evenly coated.
- Roll out the pie crust and place it in a 9-inch pie dish. Trim any excess dough hanging over the edges. Or just get one already made up in a dish.
- Pour the apple mixture into the pie crust, spreading it out evenly. Dot the top with diced butter.
- Roll out the second pie crust and place it over the filling. Trim any excess dough and crimp the edges to seal the pie.
- Cut slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape. Brush the crust with beaten egg for a golden finish.
- Place the pie on a baking sheet to catch any drips and bake in the preheated oven for 45-55 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
- Allow the pie to cool for at least 30 minutes before slicing and serving.
- Enjoy with some French Vanilla Ice Cream.
