Ingredients:

  • 6 medium-sized apples (2 Granny Smith, 2 Honeycrisp, and 2 Jonagold), peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1/2 cup Organic granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup Organic packed light brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 teaspoon Organic ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon Organic ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon Pink Himalayan Sea Salt
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, diced
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 2 pre-made pie crust (store-bought or homemade)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F .
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the peeled and sliced apples, granulated sugar, brown sugar, lemon juice, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Toss until the apples are evenly coated.
  3. Roll out the pie crust and place it in a 9-inch pie dish. Trim any excess dough hanging over the edges. Or just get one already made up in a dish.
  4. Pour the apple mixture into the pie crust, spreading it out evenly. Dot the top with diced butter.
  5. Roll out the second pie crust and place it over the filling. Trim any excess dough and crimp the edges to seal the pie.
  6. Cut slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape. Brush the crust with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  7. Place the pie on a baking sheet to catch any drips and bake in the preheated oven for 45-55 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
  8. Allow the pie to cool for at least 30 minutes before slicing and serving.
  9. Enjoy with some French Vanilla Ice Cream.
